The Christmas Gospel
Chapter 14
Why the notion of "virgin birth" has been linked to the birth of Jesus
But when the virgin birth is nevertheless still mentioned in connection with the tradition of the Christmas Gospel, it has not of course, on the part of Providence, been to deceive terrestrial human beings or to make them believe that a miracle is the basis for the world redeemer's physical birth. When the virgin birth has so far been construed as something that has rendered "Joseph" or the male principle superfluous, it is due solely to a prevailing misunderstanding of the divine, sexual principle already existing in the mentality of terrestrial human beings that in its purest form is just the tool for releasing the normal living being's sympathetic faculties and therefore for the highest release of sympathy or love, which again in its highest nature is the same as the overshadowing of "the Holy Spirit". Since the sexual principle is not in its purest form in beings that appear as man and woman, as this also triggers antipathy, jealousy and hatred, one has misunderstood the whole of sexuality and obtained quite a disparaging view of this divine principle as something that is sinful, something one should preferably try to avoid and have only as little to do with as possible. One has hardly been able to imagine that the "son of God's" birth should be dependent on such a sinful phenomenon. The dank mist of ignorance and superstition has therefore obscured sexuality's natural, divine role in the birth of Christ.
