A summary explanation of symbol no. 88 – The True Conception of Our Neighbour. Human Beings’ Various Stages of Character

The symbol shows the various stages that people are at. They are different as regards mentality and they are on different steps as regards character. Some people are intellectual, purely materialistic and intelligent (green); others have more of a touch of feeling (yellow); and some are still to a great extent instinctive beings (red).

• The round red figure symbolises a human being in which instinct is very much to the fore. It is a believer that can be strictly bound by dogma.
• The round yellow figure symbolises a human being with a strong touch of feeling.
• The round green figure symbolises a human being with a strong touch of intelligence.

Many people think that the others ought to be different to how they are. It is the situation that is the greatest superstition. But everyone must have their beliefs and ideas. The most important thing is that one can be good friends. It is this that spiritual science shall teach people.
