35.5  The domain of the male and female beings in the spiral cycle
Just above the copulation figure, between the dotted lines, we see a green and a yellow area. These two areas show the two poles' capacity to manifest in the female beings in the animal kingdom, to which the unfinished human beings also more or less belong. The animal kingdom is indicated here by the area between the dotted lines that rest on the animal kingdom's step at the bottom of the symbol. We see here how the masculine principle (green colour) degenerates to a minimum in order once again to increase in capacity. At the same time we see that the feminine principle (yellow colour) is the dominating or leading one in the beings here in this zone, which of course is the same as the animal kingdom; we know these beings as female beings. Further up in the same area between the dotted lines we also see the masculine and feminine principle symbolised. But here the feminine principle is at a minimum, and the masculine principle is the leading one. And we know these beings as male beings. The beings of the animal kingdom, because of the pole structure shown, are thus male and female beings, which in turn is the same as one-poled beings. Further up in the same area we see an area that symbolises the culmination of darkness in the spiral cycle referred to here. We see that this darkness is indicated by lines, and continues into the areas on the right, albeit in a form that is on the decline. At the very top we see that the light (the white area) begins in the animal kingdom and likewise continues into the areas on the right, but in a form that is increasing. So these areas, as already shown below by the colours, indicate the human kingdom, the kingdom of wisdom, the divine world and the kingdom of bliss. We see this light culminate or appear at its maximum state of unfoldment in the divine world, which is also called the kingdom of intuition because it is borne by the faculty of intuition (blue colour). After this area the light once again declines or degenerates right down to its latent or minimal state in the animal kingdom of a new spiral cycle. After this it once again increases and continues in the same way into the kingdoms of this spiral cycle, as it did in the previous cycle.
