40.3  "The holy spirit" or a form of sensing that constitutes the road to the solution to the mystery of life
While the Earth is thus too close to the individual to be "taken in" physically, the other stars are in reality so "far away" that they shrink and become merely small, shining points, which for physical sight fade into invisibility. And the individual who is only physically and materially minded finds himself once again here on merely theoretical ground. But this does not, however, prevent there nevertheless being the opportunity for experiencing purely practically the realistic and important aspects of the smallest and biggest stars, both those that are close to us in the universe and those that are furthest away from us, both those that as giant suns cast their rays thousands and thousands of light years through space towards us, and those that as small electrons blaze a trail through the depths of matter, and whose light contributes to creating the light in our desk lamps, as well as the rushing of blood in our veins. When the individual is sufficiently evolved, a method of sensing thus exists that gives it access to absolute knowledge, based on real personal experience, of foreign worlds, stars and suns as well as of the details in atoms, electrons, molecules and so on. And this form of experience is absolutely the only one through which the identity of matter as thought energy or consciousness, and the most profound analysis or identity of the universe as "a living being" or, in short, the only form of experience through which the universe's greatest revelation as the eternal Godhead and our own identity as immortal sons of God, can emerge. Since this form of experience is thus the very highest and most fundamental one in all existence, I have termed it "the correspondence of God", but in reality it constitutes the same as that which the Bible designates "the holy spirit".
