34.17  How a spiritual being can incarnate in physical matter and become a physical being
This process begins after the act of copulation when the sperm cells of the male have been introduced into the female's organs of fertilisation, and one of these cells here makes contact with an egg cell. In the sperm cell and egg cell the above-mentioned talent kernels or so-called "chromosomes" and "genes" occur. In the union of these microcosmic talent kernels from both copulatory beings lies the genetic material for a new physical organism. But in order that the genetic material or fertilisation material of these two beings can develop into a new physical organism a discarnated being is needed, whose spirit can incarnate in and fill these micro-talents with vital energy and thereby, in conjunction with the female's vital energy, begin the creation of an embryo in the female's organ of fertilisation or womb, an embryo that will gradually become a complete physical organism through which the discarnated being, with its own talent kernels inherited from previous lives, can come to manifest itself fully and experience life on the physical plane. We see thus here how a spiritual being can incarnate in physical matter and become a physical being.
