27.2  The symbol symbolises the Earth and its consciousness. We see that around the physical planet there is a somewhat detailed aura or halo of rays. The white cross-shaped part symbolises all the humaneness in mankind, which in turn is the same as the humaneness in the mentality or consciousness of the Earth. Normally this aura or halo of rays radiates in all directions. We have depicted it in the form of a cross to symbolise merely that this aura constitutes the perfect or finished side of mankind and thereby of the consciousness of the Earth. It constitutes the beginning of cosmic consciousness in the structure of the Earth as well as in the structure or psyche of the terrestrial human being. To this halo of consciousness belongs everything that comes within observance of the law of love, everything that comes within the concept of peace and harmony, everything that comes within the concept of unselfish manifestations, everything that is expressive of justice, mercy, forgiveness of injustice, sympathy or love even towards those who are hostile to us, towards those who are intolerant of us and antipathetic towards us or hate us, everything that tends towards peace leagues, anti-militarism and the abolition of war, everything that works in the interests of internationalism and leads all the states of the Earth forward to becoming one state or one unit, a common joy and blessing for all the beings of the Earth. It is this world kingdom, created in sympathy and love by the states of the world, that will become the beginning of the "kingdom of heaven" on Earth.
