30.4  Now that the being is an animal its consciousness is no longer limited to being able merely to sense vaguely. It has begun to develop a talent for being able to experience and manifest itself through the energy of gravity and, to a lesser extent, through primitive feeling, and likewise to an even lesser extent through intelligence. In the symbol the orange-coloured step constitutes the animal kingdom. We see that the ray of the energy of gravity, indicated by the orange colour, is the dominating one here. Together with the energy of instinct, the energy of feeling and likewise to a lesser extent the energy of intelligence, the energy of gravity thus governs the consciousness of the animal, its experience of life and its manifestation. This combination of basic energies in the animal's consciousness results in the fact that the killing principle is the basis for the being's living conditions. To a great extent it has to kill in order to live. So these energies underlie the dark contrast of life, the devil human being, Armageddon or hell.
