17.5  The living being's terrestrial life constitutes a single link in a chain of cycles
We must here bear in mind that all kinds of energy or movement form cycles. We see that our physical life takes the form of twenty-four hour cycles, that is, the experience of day and night. It likewise takes the form of the year cycle, which is the same as the experience of winter and summer. Even the physical terrestrial life of the living being from birth to death is a cycle; we have termed this "the terrestrial life cycle". If we look at one such cycle we will see that it constitutes a single link in a chain of similar cycles. Thus, we see that day after day passes. We see that year after year passes, just as we are already familiar with the fact that the lives of the living beings take the form of cosmic spiral cycles. If every cycle without exception constitutes a single link in a chain of cycles, what justifies the presumption that our terrestrial life does not likewise constitute a single link in a chain of similar cycles? For the developed researcher everything confirms the fact that the terrestrial life of the terrestrial being is a single link in a chain of terrestrial lives, which are being experienced. And if one were unwilling to accept this analysis, life in its entirety would be chaos and coincidence. It would be quite meaningless and therefore totally unjust; this is the opposite of the existing facts, which show that all of life's finished processes of creation are ultimately a joy and a blessing for living beings. That the unfinished creations cannot fulfil this purpose before they are finished is a matter of course.
