25.16  To what end these terrible epochs of Armageddon or Hell? They exist solely because they are an absolutely inevitable necessity. People cannot possibly be changed through mere talking, writing or preaching. Not until people have evolved sufficiently will they be endowed with the gift of understanding such forms of manifestation. People are living in a long epoch where they are still guided by instinct, and not by either intelligence or logic. They cannot therefore understand any form whatsoever of complicated teaching. This development of the ability to understand higher teaching occurs exclusively through the return of their dark arcs of fate and the manifestation of the effects of the evil or darkness that they have inflicted on other beings. Through the sufferings or Armageddon born of this, the faculty of humaneness develops. The beings develop a loathing for war and unrest. Their faculty for not having the heart to harm other beings grows.
      Gradually as more terrestrial human beings of this category appear, their influence on politics and the management of society will become increasingly humane and international. It is these people of peace who will gradually create true peace in the world, thereby promoting the perfecting of terrestrial mankind so as to become one kingdom or one state with one religion (spiritual science), one flock and one shepherd, one people and one God. And with the aid of the next symbol we will show how the finished human kingdom will shine and sparkle, constituting the kingdom of heaven on the continents and seas of the earth.
