16.9  If the principle of the "forgiveness of sins" did not exist
If this principle did not exist human beings would have to live in a state of darkness for much longer than is necessary today. But Nature does nothing meaningless. It is not suffering for the sake of suffering that is the primary aspect of the meaning of life. The goal is the elevated result that the sufferings produce within the being. Since this goal is the creation of humaneness or the faculty to love one's fellow beings, and this can come about only by virtue of the fact that the beings will personally experience the effects of their own wrong actions, then this experience of suffering is absolutely necessary. In cases where the human being has discovered his mistake, not only theoretically, but also in his heart, and he has thereby become humane to such a degree that he can no longer do these evil actions, it would be useless, and might even be damaging, if he has to bear the full effects of the manifold evil actions that he had committed in previous lives or in an unknown past, of which he has not yet received the effects, and the consequences of which he therefore was due to suffer. But we will discuss this later in the analysis of fate. It is our purpose here to point out only this basic principle of the being's eternal structure or eternal body. This principle forms the basis for the culminating righteousness of the universe, which establishes the fact that absolutely no one can suffer injustice and no one can do injustice.
