The Eternal World Picture, vol. 1
11.32  What we do to our neighbour we do to God and so to our fate
We have here gained an insight into the fact that the Godhead is immensely near to us, as we are His organs for experiencing and manifesting. We thus meet Him in every living being, both in the microcosmos, the mesocosmos and the macrocosmos. We meet Him as well in the primitive and dark beings as in the high-intellectual and loving beings. We meet Him in the so-called "evil" as well as in the so-called "good". How could the Godhead be an almighty creator if He did not have organs for culminating love, and organs for the creation of the culmination of other life-determining creative processes? When our neighbour thus belongs to the Godhead's tools of experience and manifestation, it is not so strange that Christ said that the "fulfilment of the law" is the one great command: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God above all things and thy neighbour as thyself". What we do to our neighbour we do to God. What we do to God we do to ourselves, as our whole fate is based solely on our relationship to God.
