1600. As we have seen here, the living being or son of God is transformed completely into a being of darkness through its selfish structure, even though its connection with the Godhead cannot be severed. As the organ of the "masculine" pole and the gratification of its consequential selfish desire evolved to become all-dominating vital necessities for the being, the gates of "paradise" or the "kingdom of heaven" closed to the eternal son of God. After this transformation, "Adam's" existence in a superterrestrial or heavenly world came to an end. The "prodigal" son journeyed directly towards the zones of death, away from the "tree of life". And the greater the distance became between the departing son of God and the atmosphere or fruits of the "tree of life", the less nourishment did this son of God's life, his superterrestrial or heavenly consciousness, receive. And in this way the son of God starved its superterrestrial or cosmic consciousness. The memory of its own elevated origin and identity as a son of God and as the master of time and space, identical with eternity itself, disappeared from the "prodigal" son's waking day-consciousness. But as the heavenly nourishment or the fruits of the "tree of life" became scarce, the fruits of the "tree of death", that is to say the "tree of knowledge", became all the more abundant. The being wallowed in the consumption of matter, the consumption of the flesh and blood of other beings. Tearing their flesh, mutilating and annihilating other beings became a daily condition of life for the "prodigal" son of God. Its consciousness no longer contained any mercy, compassion or pity for any fellow being with the exception of the being (the being of the opposite sex) that was essential to its own drive for self-preservation, and through which it could still sense a tiny, faint ray from a past, now unknown, heavenly or cosmic light. Thus the ground was "cursed" for this being's sake. Hungry for meat and blood, it spread an atmosphere of terror and flight over the continents and seas. No being could feel safe any longer. The "prodigal" son of God, formerly such a radiant being, had acquired "devil consciousness". The "bewitched" prince of the fairy tales, this superterrestrial, heavenly being, the Godhead's own son appears to us alive in flesh and blood as a roaring "male beast of prey" of the primordial forest and the silent "male beast of prey" of the oceans. The "male beast of prey" is the "dead Adam" in his pure form. And it is the remains of this predatory psyche or "bewitched" cosmic consciousness that is interpreted in churches and temples today as "evil", just as it is the cosmic part of the consciousness of the terrestrial human being or incipient "neighbourly love", which has been freed from this spell, that is interpreted in the same churches and temples today as "good".
