Livets Bog, vol. 5
If the feminine being were not a vital necessity for the purely male being. It is not only in the "uttermost parts of the sea" that the hand of God leads and firmly holds the son of God or the living being
1598. This "love" can thus be manifested or triggered here only in connection with a "feminine" being. This being is a vital necessity, as are food and shelter from wind and weather. And here we are confronted with the being whose concentration is focused mostly on egoism and selfishness. If this vital dependence on the opposite sex were not inherent in this being, such a being would be a one hundred per cent incarnation of the killing principle; it would be death – real, completely destructive and all-slaying – revealed in the shape of a living being. If the Earth were populated by such beings, it would be a planet whose most distinguished symbol or emblem would have to be the "Grim Reaper", since this servant of death would be the only living thing on the planet. But darkness is fortunately not as completely devoid of God's closeness as this. The eternal words "in Him we live and move and have our being" also apply here. There is indeed darkness in the cosmic spiral cycle – in the worst cases the beings murder, kill and eat each other's organisms – but because situations arise in which allowing beings of the opposite sex to live is a vital necessity for them, the dark zone cannot be completely or one hundred per cent dark. The heavenly light incarnated in flesh and blood, and revealed as a "feminine being", shines here as an absolute reflection of the light from a superterrestrial or heavenly flood of rays, from a paradise, a divine garden that the being of darkness had at one time left behind. In the midst of this "masculine" sphere of death, where no real, loving thought can be thought, and all hope of not having to be food for other beings is abandoned if one oneself does not murder or wipe out these beings, we are here confronted with the uttermost limit of the scope of the rays from the eternal Father's halo of light. The heavenly light thus cannot be extinguished. In truth, it is not only in the "uttermost parts of the sea" that the hand of God leads and firmly holds the being, but the eternal Father also accompanies his son through the uttermost darkness.
