Why hatred and bloodthirstiness are the highest virtues and moral basis of a one hundred per cent masculine being
1596. Thus life is not very complicated for a purely "masculine" being. Only one single absolute main interest can exist in its consciousness. And this main interest is the consummation of its own drive for self-preservation. Since the species of such a being consists of the same kind of purely "masculine" beings, whose organic structure likewise determines that they cannot possibly have any other interest than the consummation of their own drive for self-preservation, one will be able to understand that consummating this drive, which is a vital necessity for them, can take place only by them risking their lives, particularly as the situation in this sphere is so critical that the beings are organically compelled to regard the physical organisms of other species of beings as food. The species must therefore strive to kill one another, and in so doing become deadly enemies. Hatred and bloodthirstiness become essential characteristics, and are the highest virtues and moral basis of the one hundred per cent "masculine" being. Any kind of characteristic verging on a milder and more sympathetic nature will only weaken and undermine such a being's consciousness. It would thus have to be considered abnormal or immoral to the same extent as it tended towards mildness and sympathy instead of brutality and massacring.
