Livets Bog, vol. 4
The two halves of the spiral cycle ? "involution" and "evolution"
1536. We know from Livets Bog that the path that descends towards primitivity is the first half of the spiral cycle. In our cosmic analyses we have called this half "involution", in contrast to the other half of the spiral cycle that we already know as "evolution". Together two such halves form a complete cycle. What occurs in the latter half of the cycle is the same as what the Bible says about the fate of "Adam" and "Eve", and the fate of the "prodigal son". They became aware of their primitivity and cosmically "dead" existence in the culminatory zone of their debasement, and the longing for the light that they had lost began to emerge. And they were once again given access to the light. The "prodigal son" returned home to his eternal Father. And "Adam" and "Eve" or mankind as a whole was promised that all the generations of the Earth would be blessed in the "seed of Abraham", just as the heavenly hosts of the Christmas message also promised mankind this blessing through Abraham's descendant, the newly born Jesus Christ in Bethlehem. What then is the "seed of Abraham"? Is it not precisely his words to Lot: "Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen; for we are brethren. Is not the whole land before thee? Separate thyself, I pray thee, from me. If thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left." And is this not the same avoidance of war, discord and anger or animal traditions that the world redeemer wanted people to put into practise when he said, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself"? Can any seed or manifestation be more closely related to Abraham's manifestation or mental seed than this, the world redeemer's command with regard to the way out of darkness?
