1508. Evolution will thus result in all dictatorial principles and forces having to perish. Dictatorship is sustained solely by the principle of "receiving rather than giving". It is the domain of power and of taking the law into one's own hands. Since the foundation of true "democracy" can be nothing but "giving rather than receiving" – and all experiences, sorrows, sufferings and cultural breakdown, as well as all education of the intellect, can ultimately result in absolutely nothing but the ennobling of the mentality that manifests itself in the above-mentioned unselfish principle – it is thus established as a fact for the advanced researcher that dictatorship has had its day. It can be proclaimed and promoted only by beings who are completely unable to acquaint themselves with the plan that life itself has for mankind. They have absolutely no understanding of the mission of evolution. They thus do not know that dictatorship can be good for only an ignorant or unintellectual flock of individuals who think alike or have a collective view of things, but is, on the other hand, an infinitely great misfortune for a flock or multitude of beings who are mentally very advanced and who think individually.
