684. If everything is logical and therefore an expression of thought and consciousness, this is in itself proof that everything is an expression of a "thinking something". Behind all phenomena or forms of movement, whether outside or inside one's own organism, there has therefore to exist, either directly or indirectly, a "something that thinks and exercises will", which in connection with the phenomena or the movements, expresses consciousness or life. This "thinking something" makes itself known through its organism and other manifestations, and it is this that we call the "living being". This being is thus the fifth basic answer to the mystery of life and is expressed in the symbol's fifth star field by the main symbol of "Livets Bog", which, as we already know, consists of a combination of the three drawings: the triangle, the sun and the star-shaped cross. These three drawings in turn symbolise respectively, the I, its organism and its manifestation, and together these three realities are the living being's unshakable identity.
