Livets Bog, vol. 2
All consciousness is "cosmic consciousness" at different stages which collectively form a spiral. Through the "body of eternity" the living being itself creates its own reincarnation.
466. But as terrestrial man's body of feeling develops more and more, this body gradually comes to support his day-consciousness. Then the being will be able to experience directly as facts those mysteries which, at the present time, he has to be content with merely believing. This being is thus in reality an entity between the two forms of day-consciousness. He is partly a "gravity-being" and partly a "spiritual being", which means respectively an automatic or habitual, materialistic being and an incipient reflecting, day-conscious being, exercising his will.
In this way, we have sketched out the first faint outlines of the realities which support the living being's mental life, that is its thought-climates. We have seen that all conscious life in existence is "cosmic consciousness" at varying stages of evolution, which again collectively make up the spiral-cycle. Furthermore we have seen that this "cosmic consciousness" has its seat in the "super-consciousness" or "X2". From this "X" the same super-consciousness transmits down to one of the "bodies" in order to juggle with each of the six energies for manifestation. A living being is thus provided with six bodies of manifestation, each of which constitutes an organ in a seventh body. This seventh body, again, is the same as the "body of eternity" mentioned earlier. This body thus constitutes an individual's commanding body. It forms the foundation for his entire manifestation. With it he brings about his reincarnation, which in reality only means a changing of organs. That aspect of reincarnation which is known to terrestrial man is thus simply a changing of the organ for physical manifestation in the super-consciousness, which means a change of the being's physical or fleshly body.
