462. In the same way that the ordinary physical year has its changing seasons, so, too, has the "cosmic year". And just as the physical seasons in reality only constitute the reactions of the changing solar and terrestrial constellations, so, too, the "cosmic seasons" just constitute the reactions of changing constellations of energies. We have come to know these energies in "Livets Bog" as the seven basic energies. And just as there is a central power underlying the manifestation of the physical seasons, called the "sun", which guides and dominates the whole of life, so, too, underlying the manifestation of the "cosmic seasons", there is a power which dominates all cosmic life. This power is released through the seventh basic energy – the mother energy.
      This energy is thus in reality the "solar energy" of cosmic existence. And just as the sun in physical existence forms the basic cause of all the physical atmospheric conditions or climates present within its domain, in the same way the "mother energy" is the basis of all atmospheres of thought – i.e. thought-climates – present within its domain, which means all possible forms for revealing consciousness or of the living beings' manifestations.
