457. But in those areas where the being cannot achieve correct "imaginary pictures", neither can he get contact with reality. He has had insufficient previous experience in those areas. And where he has not had enough experience, he is least knowledgeable and unavoidably makes the greatest number of mistakes, that is, he releases actions which are in opposition to Nature's laws, i.e. the law of existence. This again will invariably give rise to a corresponding degree of disharmony, or in other words, to sorrow and pain in the being's life or existence. But such a form of existence gives the being the missing experiences whereby he gets the necessary memory-material with which to build up the capacity for compassion and in this way he is safeguarded from making the same mistakes again. Through this procedure the capacity for compassion becomes ever more and more perfect, and eventually this being will be able to feel compassion in all areas of life. At this stage compassion becomes identical with the eternally leading and guiding forces of the Universe, through which its source feels himself "one with the Father". This power is plainly synonymous with that which we call "love". And when such a "thought-climate" is permanent in the individual's way of being, then "cosmic consciousness" re-enters his day-consciousness and he continues his spiral journey onwards through the intellectual worlds.
