242. As it is, indeed, a fact that movements are experienced, then the "alive" part of the living being is also a fact. But as it is also a fact that movements cannot experience movement, it also becomes a fact that the factor experiencing movement cannot be the movement itself. If this factor is not movement then it is eternally unchanging. This means that here we have arrived at a "something" which constitutes an eternal reality, a true "fixed point". Thus to experience this "fixed point" will be the same as experiencing one's own absolute true identity as an "eternal living being". By this is not meant a theoretical experience, but the individual's own personal experience. A theoretical experience is not the same as a practical one. Reading a book about a foreign country is not the same a going there. The practical experience of immortality will thus constitute the first part of the Great Birth.
