The article: The Cause of the Fate of Terrestrial man
Chapter 5
We ourselves are the cause of our own fate
But how have babies who, because of innate illnesses or an unloving environment, are experiencing a dark fate incurred these sufferings? The answer to all the questions that arise naturally when one thinks about one's own fate and that of others lies hidden in the religions. The Hindus and Buddhists talk about karma and reincarnation; Christianity has it that "what you sow shall you also reap" and "without being born anew one cannot see the kingdom of God".
It is the same truth expressed in different ways: that no living being is created from nothing but is transformed through evolution from a primitive to a higher state where it can "see the kingdom of God", having become one with this kingdom because of his neighbourly love.
Man has developed neighbourly love in his mind through many lives; he must experience being happy and being unhappy, being someone that no-one holds in esteem, until he has power over his own mind and is above the praise and censure of others. When viewed from a perspective of many lives no-one suffers more than anyone else.
No-one can suffer injustice, and no-one can act unjustly, because everyone reaps what he has sown. For this reason none of the unpleasantnesses we experience are the fault of others. No other takes upon himself our evil acts, and no other than ourselves is to blame for everything that meets us as our fate.
We ourselves are the cause of our fate and have the possibility, through the acts we sow today, of reaping a lighter and happier fate in the future if we take our "cross" and follow Christ, not by hating and revenging but by forgiving and creating peace. The Godhead in whom we live, and whose "holy spirit" streams through the universe from electrons in the Milky Way, is love.
All the forces or energies of the universe exist solely in order to be a blessing for living beings. Where we perceive them as "evil" they are in reality "the unpleasant good" that brings us the experiences that keep us from being instruments for similar forces towards our neighbour. With such an attitude the human being will gradually become a divine instrument for those forces that will transform the earth to a world of peace.
